One of the newer home-services platforms is expanding again.
Rocket Group has partnered with One Stop Heating & Air Conditioning, a residential HVAC contractor based in Sandy, Utah.
The transaction gives Rocket its first Utah operation and, according to CEO Victor Rancour, its 15th location since launching two years ago.
This Is a Founder-Partnership Model
Rocket has differentiated itself from some traditional roll-ups by emphasizing partnerships with existing operators.
One Stop is led by Jeff and Chacie Packard and serves homeowners across Utah's Wasatch Front.
Rocket says the objective is to build a larger home-services presence in the state while retaining local operating expertise.
Fifteen Locations in Two Years
The pace is the notable part.
Reaching 15 locations within roughly two years shows how quickly newer HVAC platforms can establish geographic scale once they have:
capital,
central infrastructure,
acquisition expertise,
and willing local partners.
It also creates another buyer competing for independent HVAC businesses.
Why This Matters for Owners
The sale market is no longer dominated by only a handful of giant PE-backed platforms.
Contractors increasingly have potential buyers offering different structures:
full acquisitions,
majority investments,
minority stakes,
founder partnerships,
and franchise models.
That can give owners more negotiating options.
The Takeaway
The first HVAC consolidation wave created national platforms.
The newer wave is producing different ownership models competing for the same contractors.
Rocket reaching 15 locations in two years shows how quickly a new buyer can become a meaningful player.
