Another HVAC-focused home-services platform is expanding its electrical capabilities.
On September 2, Leap Partners announced the acquisition of Van's Electric, a third-generation electrical contractor based in Franklin, North Carolina.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Van's Will Keep Its Local Brand
The company will continue operating under the Van's Electric name and remain led by co-owners Chris and Scott VanderWoude.
Leap will provide additional operating resources and capital while preserving the local management team.
That structure has become common across home-services acquisitions.
Buy the business.
Keep the trusted local brand.
Add centralized resources behind it.
HVAC Platforms Want Electrical Revenue
Why does an HVAC platform want an electrical contractor?
Because modern homes increasingly connect the trades.
Heat pumps may require electrical upgrades.
EV chargers need electrical work.
Generators.
Panels.
Smart-home systems.
HVAC controls.
A company capable of serving multiple systems can capture more revenue from the same customer.
The Whole-Home Strategy Keeps Spreading
Residential HVAC platforms across the country are steadily adding:
Plumbing.
Electrical.
Drain service.
Water treatment.
Generators.
The logic is straightforward.
Customer acquisition is expensive.
Once a homeowner trusts one service company, that relationship becomes valuable across multiple trades.
Consolidation Is Changing What an HVAC Company Is
The old model was simple:
Heating and air conditioning.
The emerging platform model looks much broader.
Leap's latest acquisition is another example of HVAC companies evolving into whole-home service organizations where the air conditioner is only one part of the customer relationship.
