White Cap is continuing to consolidate the contractor supply market.

The company completed its acquisition of Ace Contractors Supply on September 1, expanding its presence in Central Texas.

Ace is based in Austin and supplies products including:

  • Concrete accessories
  • Rebar
  • Safety products
  • Jobsite consumables
  • Construction supplies

Financial terms were not disclosed.

White Cap Is Already Huge

White Cap operates approximately 575 branches across North America, employs more than 12,000 people, and serves roughly 200,000 customers

That makes this another example of a very large distributor absorbing a regional contractor supplier.

Why Mechanical Contractors Should Watch

Ace itself is not an HVAC distributor.

But mechanical contractors buy into the same wider construction ecosystem.

Major commercial jobs require far more than equipment.

They require:

Fasteners.

Safety equipment.

Tools.

Anchoring products.

Building materials.

Jobsite consumables.

As distributors get larger, contractors increasingly deal with companies capable of supplying multiple categories at once.

Central Texas Is the Strategic Prize

White Cap called Central Texas one of the country's fastest-growing construction markets when it first announced the planned acquisition in August.

That geographic rationale matters.

Construction suppliers follow where new buildings, infrastructure and population growth are concentrated.

Texas remains one of the most attractive expansion markets for national distributors.

Scale Can Change the Supply Relationship

Larger distributors can potentially offer:

More inventory.

Broader catalogs.

Centralized purchasing.

Digital ordering.

Regional logistics.

But consolidation can also mean fewer independent suppliers competing locally.

White Cap has not announced pricing or account changes tied to Ace, so those outcomes should not be assumed.

Contractor Takeaway

The important signal is scale.

The companies supplying America's contractors are becoming bigger, broader and more geographically concentrated — and White Cap's latest Texas acquisition continues that trend.
