Viper EZDose Targets Condensate Drain Clogs and HVAC Callback Costs

Refrigeration Technologies has launched Viper EZDose, a gravity-fed pan and drain line maintenance system designed to help HVAC contractors prevent condensate drain clogs before they turn into leaks, odor complaints, and expensive callbacks.

According to Contracting Business, clogged condensate drain lines can account for up to 90% of water-related AC service calls. A typical residential HVAC system can remove up to 20 gallons of water per day from indoor air, and when that water cannot drain properly, pans can overflow and damage ceilings, walls, and floors.

Condensate problems are common, preventable, and often frustrating for customers. A drain clog can turn a routine maintenance customer into an emergency service call. Viper EZDose uses a gravity-fed reservoir, valve, fittings, and tubing to deliver Viper Pan & Drain Treatment into the evaporator drain pan at multiple points. The system requires no power, batteries, wiring, app, or motor. Technicians fill a 32-ounce magnetic reservoir with treatment, and maintenance can be performed with 8 ounces every three months or 4 ounces monthly for problem drain lines.

That repeatable process could be useful for contractors with maintenance agreements. Instead of treating drain maintenance as an afterthought, contractors can make it a visible part of the service visit. That helps demonstrate value to the customer and may reduce avoidable return trips.
