Trane by Trane Technologies and Valent, a Greenheck Group company, announced on May 14, 2026 that Trane U.S. Inc. has entered into an exclusive supply agreement making Trane the sole channel for Valent-branded products in the United States and Canada, effective May 18, 2026.

The agreement covers three product categories where Valent has built a strong commercial reputation: dedicated outdoor air systems (DOAS), value-added rooftop units (RTUs), and energy recovery products. Valent is recognized specifically for high-percentage outside air and energy recovery applications — a niche that is growing as commercial building codes tighten and indoor air quality expectations rise.

Why this matters for commercial contractors: DOAS units handle ventilation air separately from the primary heating and cooling system, allowing each system to be optimized for its specific function. As commercial buildings face increasing pressure to meet ventilation standards under ASHRAE 62.1 and evolving local codes, DOAS adoption is accelerating. Contractors who specify and install DOAS equipment are working in a growing segment with higher technical complexity — and higher margin.

The Trane distribution advantage: Valent had previously sold through its own network. Moving exclusively through Trane gives Valent access to Trane's commercial sales infrastructure, application engineering support, and service coverage across North America. For commercial contractors already in the Trane ecosystem, Valent products are now accessible through familiar channels.

Chris Tanaka, vice president of product management at Trane Commercial HVAC Americas, said the agreement expands the ability to serve customers with more choices in key applications, backed by the reliability and application versatility the Trane brand carries. Jake Saewert, senior national sales director at Valent, noted that Trane provides reach into more commercial projects while maintaining the equipment performance Valent is known for.

The energy recovery context: Energy recovery ventilators and dedicated outdoor air systems are directly relevant to the tightening commercial building energy codes taking effect across the U.S. in 2026 and 2027. Contractors who develop DOAS and ERV specification capability are positioning for a growing category of commercial renovation and new construction work. The Trane-Valent agreement consolidates access to a meaningful product line through a single distributor relationship.
