Rocket Group has acquired Clemmer Services, a Barstow and Santa Clarita, California-based HVAC, heating, and plumbing company, adding a 14th brand to the home services network's growing portfolio. The deal, announced July 8, extends Rocket Group's footprint into Southern California's high desert and the Santa Clarita Valley. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Clemmer Services has operated for more than three decades in San Bernardino County and the surrounding Inland Empire, expanding into the Santa Clarita Valley and Los Angeles County four years ago. Its service area covers Barstow, Apple Valley, Hesperia, Victorville, and Santa Clarita — a stretch of markets the companies say are seeing consistent residential growth.

What Rocket Group Is Buying

Clemmer brings a residential and light commercial book of business spanning air conditioning installation and repair, furnace and heating services, heat pump solutions, plumbing, sewer line repair, tankless water heaters, and indoor air quality systems. The company holds a 4.9-star Google rating, employs bilingual and NATE-certified technicians, carries Trane Comfort Specialist certification, and is an authorized Rinnai dealer.

"From day one, Clemmer Services was built on straightforward pricing and honest work, and our customers have rewarded us with their loyalty for three decades," said Dave Barnard, owner and operator of Clemmer Services. "We are proud of what we have built here, and now we are ready to take it to the next level."

Rocket Group's Platform Playbook

Rocket Group, founded by CEO Victor Rancour, partners with and grows HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and insulation companies, providing acquired brands with growth systems, sales training, marketing support, and operational infrastructure. Clemmer will gain access to that shared platform while continuing to operate under its established local brand.

"Southern California is a market we know well, and adding Clemmer Services to our portfolio was a natural next step," Rancour said. "They have built something worth building on. Our job now is to give them the tools and support to grow faster and stronger than they ever could on their own."

The transaction follows the multi-brand model that has come to define home services consolidation: rather than folding acquired companies into a single banner, platform buyers preserve local brand equity — customer reviews, name recognition, and referral networks built over decades — while centralizing back-office functions, training, and marketing spend. For a company like Clemmer, whose 4.9-star review profile and three decades of local goodwill represent much of its enterprise value, retaining the name is as much a commercial decision as a sentimental one.

Rocket Group's portfolio approach also leans on operator development. The company positions itself as both an acquirer and a consulting operation, packaging the sales processes, pricing systems, and technician training that scaled its earlier brands into a repeatable playbook for each new addition. Barnard and the existing Clemmer team are expected to run the business day to day with that support layered on.

A Crowded Consolidation Market

The deal lands amid sustained acquisition activity across residential HVAC and plumbing. Private equity firms and PE-backed platforms accounted for roughly half of tracked HVAC sector transactions through the first half of 2026, and strategic buyers have kept pace with a steady cadence of tuck-in deals across the Sun Belt and West. Within days of the Clemmer announcement, platform buyers announced acquisitions in Oklahoma, Colorado, Texas, and Connecticut.

For sellers like Clemmer, the consolidation wave has created a competitive market for well-run local operators with strong review profiles and certified technician benches. Companies with 30-plus years of operating history, recurring service revenue, and established territories in growth markets remain the most sought-after targets.

For Rocket Group, the acquisition strengthens a Southern California position in a region where extreme summer cooling demand in high desert communities like Barstow, Apple Valley, and Victorville drives replacement and service volume, while Santa Clarita's newer housing stock supports installation and maintenance-agreement growth. The bilingual technician bench Clemmer brings also matters in these markets, where a substantial share of homeowners prefer service in Spanish and word-of-mouth referrals track closely with language capability.

What Happens Next

Clemmer will continue operating under its own name while plugging into Rocket Group's shared growth systems, sales training, marketing support, and operational infrastructure. With the company positioned as the platform's 14th brand and Rancour describing Southern California as a market Rocket Group knows well, the region figures prominently in the platform's continued expansion plans.
