Madison Air is giving the HVAC industry another signal that commercial air quality and thermal-management demand remain strong.

The company reported $991.3 million in second-quarter 2026 net sales, compared with $819.6 million a year earlier. It also raised full-year net sales guidance to a range of $3.825 billion to $3.925 billion. Madison Air said its commercial segment grew 23.8%, with organic commercial sales up 22.3%, led by air, liquid and hybrid cooling, custom air handling, and air movement solutions.

For HVAC contractors, this matters because the strongest parts of the market are not only traditional comfort cooling. They are tied to air quality, custom air handling, cooling infrastructure, and energy-efficient building systems.

Madison Air’s commercial strength points to a larger trend: building owners are still investing in systems that improve air performance, reliability, and operational efficiency. That can create opportunities for contractors working in commercial HVAC, industrial facilities, data-adjacent buildings, healthcare, education, and large institutional spaces.

The contractor takeaway is clear: air quality is becoming a serious business category. Contractors who understand ventilation, air movement, filtration, controls, and custom air handling may be better positioned as owners look beyond basic replacement work.
