Advantage Services Group (“ASG”), a residential home services platform, announced July 8 that it has acquired Doctor Fix-It, a Denver Metro provider of heating, cooling, plumbing and electrical services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Founded in 1978, Doctor Fix-It has spent nearly five decades serving homeowners across the Denver metropolitan area, and the acquisition adds a third brand to ASG's Colorado platform alongside Elkhorn Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical and Balance Point Heating, Cooling & Plumbing.

Doctor Fix-It holds an A+ rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau, has been certified as a Great Place to Work, and was named a Top 200 Private Company by ColoradoBiz in 2021. Following the acquisition, Doctor Fix-It's operations have been integrated with Elkhorn Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical, one of ASG's existing Colorado brands, rather than continuing to operate as a standalone unit.

Advantage Services Group has grown primarily through acquisitions of independent home service companies, a strategy common among private equity-backed platforms competing for HVAC, plumbing and electrical contractors as owners near retirement age look for buyers who will preserve local brands and staff. ASG's Colorado brands operate under their own names while sharing back-office functions such as recruiting, marketing and technology across the platform.

Doctor Fix-It Brings Nearly Five Decades of Denver Metro Service

“Colorado has been an important market for Advantage Services Group, and Doctor Fix-It represents exactly the type of company we seek to partner with,” said David Williams, chief executive of Advantage Services Group. “Their reputation, expertise and commitment to customers have made them a trusted name in the Denver Metro area and we are excited to build upon that legacy while continuing to invest in the people and systems that drive exceptional service.” Williams said ASG plans to continue expanding its residential services footprint across the United States by partnering with what the company calls “elite home service brands” rather than building new locations from scratch.

Kevin Cassidy, ASG's regional vice president for Colorado, said combining Doctor Fix-It's operations with Elkhorn was intended to strengthen the service platform for both employees and customers in the Denver Metro area. “Bringing Doctor Fix-It together with Elkhorn creates a stronger platform for employees and customers across the Denver Metro,” Cassidy said. “Both organizations share a commitment to doing the job right, investing in their people and building lasting customer relationships. We are excited to welcome the Doctor Fix-It team into the ASG family and continue delivering the level of service Colorado homeowners deserve.”

Doctor Fix-It Deal Follows Recent ASG Expansion in Colorado

The Doctor Fix-It acquisition is one of several ASG has completed this year as the company builds out residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical platforms in multiple states, adding to a Colorado presence that already included Elkhorn and Balance Point. ASG describes itself as a residential services platform built around a “people-first culture” that partners with established local operators rather than replacing their branding or management outright, a structure it has applied to acquisitions in several states so far in 2026.

ASG said customers of Doctor Fix-It will continue to receive service from the same technicians and staff while gaining access to what the company described as enhanced operational resources, expanded training opportunities and increased investment in technology and customer experience. The company said it expects to continue pursuing acquisitions of established residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical brands as part of its broader growth strategy.

Denver's residential HVAC and plumbing market has drawn interest from multiple national platforms in recent years, with contractors citing steady population growth along the Front Range and rising demand for HVAC replacement and electrical upgrade work. Doctor Fix-It's near-50-year operating history in the market made it an attractive addition for ASG as it consolidates its Colorado operations under fewer, larger brands.

ASG has structured its acquisitions so that most acquired companies keep operating under their original names even as back-office functions are consolidated, a model it shares with several other residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical platforms that have been active acquirers over the past two years. In Colorado, that has meant folding Doctor Fix-It's day-to-day operations into Elkhorn Heating, Air Conditioning, Plumbing & Electrical rather than retaining Doctor Fix-It as a separate brand, while Elkhorn and Balance Point Heating, Cooling & Plumbing continue to operate under their own names within the same regional platform.

ASG has not disclosed how many acquisitions it has completed nationally in 2026 or whether additional Colorado transactions are under discussion, and neither ASG nor Doctor Fix-It disclosed the purchase price or other financial terms of the deal.

Industry trackers have logged dozens of residential HVAC, plumbing and electrical acquisitions across the country so far this year, with platforms such as ASG continuing to add family-owned operators in markets where they already have an established base, rather than entering new metropolitan areas outright.
